Farrell Nominates For The Masters
Western Australia’s Ryan Farrell has been confirmed as the first official nomination for the 2007 Richmond Heavy Towing Australian Sprintcar Masters at Speedway City. Farrell’s nomination is a huge boost for the event as he hasn’t raced at the venue since the inaugural Sprintcar Nationals in February 2005, so it will be the first time that the Adelaide based fans have had a chance to witness one of Australia’s best Sprintcar drivers in action for several seasons.
Farrell will team up with the Matt Eastham and the Victory Lane Racegear Team for his assault on the prestigious $5000-to-win event on November 3. Farrell has previously driven the Victory Lane #88 House Car recording a top 10 result in a guest appearance at Mount Gambier during the 2006/07 Speedweek (WSS) tournament.
Over the past couple of years Ryan has been a regular race winner at the high banked Kwinana Motorplex in Western Australia but he has also put in several impressive performances both interstate and overseas. Last season Ryan was one of the standouts at the National Title at Latrobe qualifying on the front row for the Championship decider before recording a top five finish. This result followed his outstanding second placing in the Australian Championship at Murray Bridge in 2005. In addition to these performances he has also been a regular visitor to the Parramatta City Raceway in Sydney with the talented racer recently setting a new 1 lap track record at the season opening Spring Nationals.
Speedway City Promoter Wendy Turner is extremely excited about the return of Ryan Farrell to her venue stating that she believes he will be a real draw card. “Ryan is an extremely exciting driver to watch and he is a proven race winner. To have Ryan as our very first nomination says a lot for our event. It is a race that every top line Australian driver wants to win” explained Wendy at the recent practice night.
